Blushing

Vince Cap Sleeve Popover Blouse   //   7 For All Mankind The Skinny in Authentic Oceanside   //   Steve Madden Marlenee {blush color sold out, similar here}   //   BCBG Clutch {old, similar herehere & here}   //   Ray-Ban Aviators Gradient   //   M.A.C Cosmetics Creme Cup Lipstick

I don't know if it's been the weather tricking me into thinking it's summer or the fact that spring is upon us, but I cannot get enough of pastels. Especially this blush, pink color. Vince is one of my favorite brands too, so when I saw this color in a brand I love, I literally couldn't refuse. An impulse purchase, but one I know I will get a lot of use from. Pastels have to be my favorite trend for spring, that I will most definitely carry over into summer.

Dining Room Turned Lounge

"I like my money right where I can see it, hanging in my closet"
- Carrie Bradshaw

Although I do agree with Carrie 100%, I feel you need to see your money not only in your closet, but also in other areas of your home. I for one, have had this constant annoyance going on in the back of my head since we moved into our new house last June due to the lack of furniture & consistency. Unfinished products annoy me like nothing else. We were in limbo, trying to find the perfect pieces to complete our home & I'm happy to say, we are finally making progress.

Being young adults fresh out of college, we have no need for dining room furniture; lets be real. So instead, we decided to make our dining room into a "lounge". There's nothing worse than wasting time & money on finding furniture for a room you know you'll never use. We've been planning our "lounge" feel for the last eight months & I wanted to share with you what we've done so far.

While I was living in Dallas for an internship about a year & a half ago, I found this great couch for an amazing price. It was originally an orange-yellow color that I liked, but soon tired of. But, the framing is gorgeous & is a great size. So, we found a neutral fabric & got it recovered along with these accent pillows.

We also found this fun, chetah print fabric & recovered these two ottomans my parents no longer wanted, to add a little punch to the room. I'm a huge fan of gallery walls & simple accents. Our gallery wall consists of autographed photos from our favorite TV shows & musicians, such as the Friends cast & The Eagles.

My next project for this room: re-paint the walls. I'm not a fan of the color or texture that the couple that lived here before us did- so, that will be changing soon. I'm thinking of a light tan or cream color. What do you think?

Black & White Checks

J.Crew Top {sold out, other black & white tops here & here, LOVE this & this}   //   Hinge Skirt {old, similar here & here}   //   Steve Madden Realove Heels   //   Marc by Marc Jacobs Hail To The Queen Diana Bag   //   Ray-Ban Aviator Gradient

I think you all know by now that I love black & white paired together. It's hard to go wrong with this color combination. Now that the temperatures are starting to rise a bit here in West Texas (with the exception of today), I'm finally able to wear skirts & short sleeves without completely freezing. I couldn't be happier. I'm over this cold weather & am craving a pina colada on the beach. And in just 16 days, that's exactly where I'll be.

Have a great day & as always, thanks for stopping by!

Jumpsuit

I've always been a big fan of BCBG's clothing & accessories. They are known for having classic items with a bit of a modern twist. It's one of my go to's for things such as a classic white top for work or an outfit out on the town. I never leave empty handed!

BCBG did it again with this Behati Jumpsuit. I originally planned to wear this outfit on New Year's Eve, but opted for something more casual once our plans changed a bit. But, I have no regrets buying this jumpsuit. It has very clean lines and can be styled multiple ways, so I plan to get a lot of use out of this ensemble in the near future!

BCBG is also famous for their sales. They're constantly having great deals so be on the lookout!

Coffee Cake

Every summer growing up I attended summer camp in Missouri at Kanakuk. I loved camp & getting to see my friends I only see once a year, but one of the other things I looked forward to most was this coffee cake on Sunday mornings. My favorite part about it; the crumbly cinnamon topping. This recipe has been used every Sunday morning at Kanakuk Camps for over thirty years, & lucky for you, I have the recipe.

Ingredients:
2 eggs beaten
2/3 cup margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk not evaporated milk
3/4 cup water
1 3/4 cup sugar
3 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup flour
1/4 stick softened margarine

Instructions:
Beat eggs. Add margarine, vanilla, Milnot evaporated milk & water. Combine dry ingredients. Add to liquid mixture & beat until batter is smooth. Pour batter into a greased/floured 9x13 baking pan. Mix topping ingredients until crumbly with a fork. Sprinkle topping on a cake & bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Enjoy!

Navy

I got this plaid Topshop shirt for Christmas and it's without a doubt one of my favorite things I got. It's amazing quality {so soft & comfortable} and the price point is even better. It's now on sale for only $29.99! Unbelievable. These great Sam Edelman pumps are on sale too for $87.06. Both are well worth the purchase, especially since they can be worn into spring and summer. Snag them while you can!

Have a great week!
