{My favorite, local candy: Pecan English Toffee}

Rather than featuring a Lovely Wednesdays post this week, I thought it was appropriate to let Thanksgiving have the spotlight. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, filled with eating & relaxing with family. Every year, this day starts off the same with eating our traditional, holiday breakfast while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Lunch later follows, along with naps, walks around the neighborhood & of course football. In particular, Texas Tech football this year.

It' a given that we are thankful for the big things, like friends & family. But sometimes it's harder to be see the little things around us that we should we be thankful for. Today I urge you to find beauty in the simple things like the falling leaves, the long walks & the many conversations. Be thankful for them & the many other beautiful things around us this season.

I'm Thankful for:

Happy Thanksgiving & safe travels!

It's obvious that I love black & white. They are my go-to colors because they are classic & appropriate for any occasion. Although I do love a pop of color like this matte, bright red lipstick.

I paired these coated, black pants with a plain, white top. I have often confessed my obsession of buying simple, white tops. It's the piece I'm constantly reaching for. A good friend of mine said that you can never have too many basic tops & I have to agree with her 100%.

This coat is something I was coveting for about a month & once it hit the sale rack at French Connection, I knew it was time to purchase. It's a warm & cozy piece that goes with anything for any occasion. I have had a recent obsession with coats that I can't explain, hence this amazing black & white checked bunny coat.

I hope everyone stayed warm over the weekend & be sure to check out French Connection & Joie's amazing sale items. New things are added daily! Use promo code W13PROMO to get an extra 30% off sales styles at French Connection.

Have a great Thanksgiving week, everyone!

Lovely Wednesdays: How To Organize Your Closet

I love to organize. I will admit, I'm a neat freak & totally OCD when it comes to order. My bedroom is always spotless & neat, but my closet is sometimes put on the back burner.

Since moving into a new house, I've been thinking of ways to maximize my space by organizing everything by category & color. Keeping your closet neat & tidy makes everything more accessible & easy to find.

I came up with an idea that looks neat, clean & stylish, to store everything from purses to office supplies.

What you will need:

Card stock // Scissors // A Printer // Ribbon // Hole punch // Storage Container

I love how they look on my shelf in my closet; sleek & stylish. They are perfect for easy access & you always know exactly where everything is. You won't regret doing this simple yet rewarding project!

Ombre Florals

All Images by David Warren Photography

With my fall calendar filled to the brim, I've been desperate for a relaxing weekend at home. I had absolutely nothing planned & I loved every minute of it. I spent my time this weekend with family & friends; brunching & watching football. For once I can say I feel rejuvenated starting off the week. Such a nice feeling!

I always love a great floral print, & couldn't be more excited they have overlapped into fall this year. I love this French Connection shift dress & the bright colors & hombre effect make it fun. These Michael Kors heels have to be the most comfortable pair of heels I own. I made it my mission this fall to find a few pair of heels with a 3- 3 1/2 inch heel. There's nothing worse than wearing a pair of heels that cause more harm than good. I topped this look off with a Tory Burch clutch & Kendra Scott earrings. These designers always pull through with beautiful, versatile pieces. Always classic & sophisticated.

Be sure to check back Wednesday for some organizational tips for your closet!
Have a great Monday & thanks for following along!

Lovely Wednesdays: Pumpkin Cookies

What is better than the smell of warm cookies baking in your kitchen? Very little in my opinion.

So, for this weeks {Lovely Wednesdays} post (sorry it's a day late!) I'm sharing a tasty pumpkin cookie recipe.

I've been wanting to make pumpkin cookies for quite some time now & came across this simple yet delicious recipe. Baking from scratch always seems to taste better & unlike pre-made mixes, you know exactly what you're putting in your body.

I've been trying to get in the kitchen more with both cooking & baking. The only time of year I ever really bake is around the holidays. This usually consists of my sisters & I helping my mom bake (& eat) her infamous, triple layer chocolate cake.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, consisting of eating our traditional Thanksgiving breakfast while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, cooking, more eating & spending some much needed time with family. This year we will be celebrating at our lake house in East Texas.

I have tried to be thankful for something specific every day this month, and today I am thankful for cool, fall weather & these mouth watering cookies.

Cookie Ingredients:
Yields 36 Servings

2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients:
3 oz cream cheese
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups powdered sugar

Cookie Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder & baking soda in a bowl.

 2. Combine sugar & butter together in a mixing bowl, mixing the two together to create a creamy base. Slowly add vanilla, egg, pumpkin, nutmeg & cinnamon.

3. Keep mixer on low, slowly combining #1 with #2.

4. Roll cookie dough into balls and place them on a greased cookie sheet.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes (dough may not seem thick).

Tip: Stick a toothpick in cookies to see if they are ready or not. Clean toothpick means they are ready. Dough on toothpick means they are not ready.

Cream Cheese Frosting Directions:
1. Combine cream cheese, butter & sugar in mixing bowl until it is creamy.
(So easy & tasty!)

2. Spread cream cheese frosting on top of cookies.

I got my cute apron & gold, appetizer plate at Target

Enjoy & have a great weekend!
