Cuff Love

When traveling around the United States, or even the world, everyone always buys souvenirs. Rather than buying the typical tourist "gift shop" items, buy something that you will keep forever.

I'm loving cuff bracelets right now and luckily enough, some of my cuffs have great stories behind them, and are souvenirs from my travels. Although my first bracelet doesn't have much of a story, it's still one of my favorites.

This gold, flower cuff is from Stella & Dot and can either be dressed up or down. I bought this in college for myself, and I love its versatility. I even bought matching, chandelier earrings to go with it. By the way, Stella & Dot is featuring, Top 50 Under 50 right now. Great jewelry for great prices!

I bought this next cuff in Florence, Italy last summer. I lived in an apartment on Borgo San Lorenzo right next to the historic, Duomo. There was a daily, outdoor market set up right next to our apartment, selling purses, jewelry, clothing and fruit. I love the colorful stones on this cuff, and cherish it even more that it resembles my amazing time abroad.

Taos, New Mexico has to be one of my favorite places to visit. It never gets old. About 2 years ago my boyfriend and I went skiing for the weekend, and spent an afternoon shopping. I saw this gold and silver cuff at a jewelry store in the town square, and immediately knew I had to have it. I love that it's from one of my favorite places, and that someone special bought it for me.

The last item, is a necklace that has that "cuff" appearance. I bought this from a vintage store, called Broomhilda's, in Lubbock, Texas and I love it. The two, young women that own the store said they purchased it from an estate sale and that I had to buy it. What a fun job, right? It's sophisticatication and style makes it one of those pieces you know you'll wear for many years to come.

    Happy Wednesday, everyone! :)

Splash Of Color

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! It's hard to believe that summer is already half-way over.

I spent Independence Day on lake LBJ in east Texas; boating, laying out and grilling. Being at the lake means that you spend 95% of the time in your swimsuit. I've always been drawn to the colorful, strapless bikini, and never really considered buying any of the other cuts and styles of swimwear that are offered.

The most typical for us, twenty-somethings is the "minimal coverage" style. These 5 below are my favorites this summer, and are all from Victoria's Secret. I'm LOVING the "medium coverage" suits right now. I haven't bought one yet, but plan to purchase something similar to one of these 5 below. Lastly, is the style that I have always considered too young, too old or just outdated; the "maximum coverage" one-piece. However, I have noticed a recent comeback in one-pieces, and I'm really tempted to buy one (even though it's been about 10 years since I owned one). These new, updated one-pieces would complement any figure; although, I can sympathize with the girls who are hesitant to make the leap of faith.

Summer Obsessions

Here are just are few things I've purchased this summer that I'm loving!

Since moving into my new house, I have taken some time to get organized. One of my favorite things about my new house; my closet. Every girl dreams of a big, walk-in closet and I've taken this opportunity to get rid of things I don't wear anymore, to switch my entire wardrobe over to Huggable Hangers and hang everything by categories and colors. I'm a bit obsessed with being clean and organized, and doing these few things makes your closet cleaner and more accessible.

This summer, I've added some great pieces to my closet. I love this floral dress. It's different and fun for summer; although it will need some hemming. Maxi dresses are definitely my go-to pieces for summer. This one has to be my new favorite. The green and pink dresses and strappy heels were purchased with the six weddings in mind that I'll be going to in the coming months. The best part- they are affordable or are on sale. These wedges are also a great summer shoe, and add a little color to any outfit. Everyone always needs more "basics" in their wardrobe, and these Ted Baker sandals are practical and comfortable. I also love these Kate Spade earrings. I got these from Piperlime, who is actually having a huge sale right now! Lastly, I bought these Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses on a whim and love them. They're a great size and look even better on!
