Roma Roma Roma

Journaling is one of the best things you can do for yourself; especially while traveling. Since it has already been a whole year since I studied in Italy, I thought it fitting to reminisce a little bit over the summer, and read each day's passage in my Italy journal on the same date now that it was written then. Reading back over my time in Italy, makes it seem like just yesterday I was traveling across Italy eating delicious food and soaking up the culture and history. One thing I wanted to do all of college was study abroad. Luckily, I was able to fit it in last summer and even better, I got to go with one of my best and oldest friends, Lara. I took an Italian wine and food pairing class and yes, it counted toward my degree believe it or not. Before arriving in Florence to move into my apartment and start my class, I got to discover Rome for a few days. I ate lots of great food and went on tours throughout the entire city. We visited the Colosseum and Roman Forums, tossed coins in the Trevi Fountain, toured the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel and much, much more. Halfway through the tour, Lara and I got separated from our tour group during a shopping break, but it ended up being more fun exploring the city on our own. The history and beauty of everything in Rome was overwhelming, and I wish I could go back in time to relive it. Hopefully, I'll be able to travel there again one day! With that being said, document your life; the important things and even the not so important things. Write it in a journal (like mine below), take pictures or even use a video camera, like my friends and I did in college. Trust me, you will be so happy you did!
